"The more, the better" saying doesn’t go for links. At least not as long as "more" means links you buy without checking if they are risky for your backlink profile or not. You’d better aim for fewer high-quality links, then for thousands of links that bring no value to your backlink profile. Weak or risky backlinks won’t help your rankings at all. It can go even worst. These links can get you a Google penalty and severe (if not 100%) loss of organic traffic. Google normally takes into account bounce rate and the time spent on a site as ranking factors. If visitors are bouncing away due to navigation confusion and poor content structure, you can be sure that the search bots are too. The user always comes first. So, if you can’t fit the keyword in naturally anywhere, just forget it and use it in your image alt-text etc. Voice search is picking up steam. You can now use your voice to search the web, play music, navigate home, order sushi or get the latest football results.
Help searchers find information on your site more easily
Just as Google has always been focused on providing its users with the best results, now it’s time to put your focus on what’s most important for your audience. How does a new website start ranking? Does it just magically appear in Google after you’ve launched it? What things do you have to do to start ranking in Google and get traffic from the search engines? Avoid elements that annoy visitors. You might think that a cool pop-up will make people sign up for your great e-book, but that popup might just as easily make them surf away from your site altogether. Keep in mind, when a searcher goes to your site, then quickly clicks the back button and chooses another result; Google and Bing are not looking kindly at you. Meta descriptions are technically HTML attributes that offer concise explanations of what a webpage is about. They can be used on search engine result pages to show a preview for a webpage. They are far less of a direct ranking signal as they once were (almost not at all these days) BUT they remain important because – when Google chose to use the suggested meta description – they are the effective ‘sales pitch’ to users to click on your webpage.
The first choice should be reporting
The focus on the right audience and the right content brings an understanding of the content that they’re more likely to consume. The Internet is all about trends — what works phenomenally well to improve SEO one year, might fall flat the next. SEO isn’t a one-and-done type deal. It requires constant updating, tweaking, experimenting and testing. And with SEO being one of the highest returning investments you’ll make for your website, you’ll want to constantly measure its success to maintain powerful results.
You should track the traffic, engagement, conversion rates and page visits for your mobile strategy separately than those of your desktop strategy. Keyword research can be time-consuming, but rewarding when done properly.
Chew on that one for a while
Schema.org is a code protocol developed jointly by the world’s top search engines. It’s created to make it easier for companies to structure the data they present on their websites A key lesson to apply to pretty much every aspect of SEO, is not to get carried away when you find ideas that work. For example, just because quality is key, that doesn’t mean that you need to disavow every low quality link and only ever build links from the top sites. Websites that are popular and have a lot of links shared on social media tend to perform well on the search engines. These sharing signals are picked up by the search engines which look at the links being shared to help assess the popularity of a webpage and whether it is authoritative. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "The higher your site ranks in the search engines the more visitors you will get from them. Search engines focus on keywords: the words that people type into a seach engine when looking for something. Your aim is to make sure that your site ranks well for the keywords relevant to your site."
Don’t forget to link from the top too
You want to give the user the exact information that they searched for and entice them to explore your site with easy-to-understand navigation to create a seamless, satisfying experience for a new customer. Another factor in determining the value of a link is the way the link is implemented and where it is placed. For example, the text used in the link itself (i.e., the actual text that a user clicks on to go to your web page) is also a strong signal to the search engines. .The concept of searcher’s intent is no new. We have seen the focus shifting from SEO to understanding searcher’s intent to provide better user experience. After the release of Google Panda and Google Penguin update, SEOs have started focussing on user experience rather solely on Search Engines. The first thing that has to be considered, when planning your website content, is target audience. You have to think about who will want to visit your site, what they want to see, and why they want to visit. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking “My target audience is everyone.”
