With so many options, many brands and marketers are left to ask: What are the best tactics for SEO? And even more, what are the strategies that will produce the best long-term results? One of the most important steps when starting with SEO is to align it with your wider goals. It’s useful to set initial goals for what you want to achieve with your content to explore how to involve SEO in the process. Do not copy another site’s content without asking permission first. It’s bad for you, the site you’re copying from and the reader too. SEO isn’t magic or voodoo. I know some SEO consultants will make you believe they possess magical powers and only they can optimize your website, but don’t listen to them.

Leverage the work your competitors have already done in link building

I've seen new pages soar though, so don't assume you're lack of first page success is just because your blog is new. Google has several bots: Googlebot (desktop), Googlebot (mobile), Googlebot Video, Googlebot Images, Googlebot News. For most websites, the Googlebots for desktop and mobile are the most important bots. SEO ranking improves when visitors stay on your site longer, view more pages, and repeat their visits. The more user-friendly your site is, the more likely this is going to happen. You need to see things from your customers’ point of view and, more importantly, you need to write the things that appeal to their viewpoint.

Content marketing is the process of developing unique content that is useful for your target market – often without selling whatsoever. Meta description tags can influence click-throughs but aren't directly used for rankings. Now, as you might expect from Google, the definition of what constitutes a good landing page experience is a little vague and can vary widely from one page to another.
