There are domains which are better to receive links from than others. These are domains that are “trusted” sources and have higher domain authority. Search engines want to deliver the best results to searchers based on the search terms visitors enter. When building backlinks to your website, you have to make everything look as natural as possible. It’s normal that a website has most of its links to the homepage. Search engine optimization (SEO) plays a crucial role in bringing in more traffic to every site.
Snappy results and SEO
According to Google, natural links leading back to your site are definitely something to strive for. For years, we’ve viewed
off-page SEO as the process of getting more
inbound links … whether that be through link exchange deals, paid
links, or other link-building schemes. What do all of these tactics have
in common today? Google doesn’t like them, and has been known to
drop the proverbial hammer-of-SEO-doom on numerous occasions when
companies get caught using them. Faked and manipulated website content (even backlinks) can actually harm a website’s SEO. For this reason, creating newsworthy content that inspires viral sharing and natural linking is the best way to ensure valuable SEO-rich backlinks. Paying people to link to your
site won’t pay off in the long run, and could seriously damage your search rankings. When you are creating text, keep in mind that web
users want to get information quickly. So, express
yourself in as much detail as necessary, but as
succinctly as possible. For example, avoid long,
nested phrases and break up your texts with short
paragraphs, bullet points, headings, and images.
Set goals for desirable links to obtain
Link building is all about getting a link from another site back to your own. In order to do this you need to research what is out there. What you are looking for is websites that are relevant to you and your location. This is called “local link building”. You can also look for those that are just relevant to your company. Google already gives ranking
boosts to sites on a secure protocol (https vs. http) and this emphasis on security will only grow as time passes. For some businesses a point in the right direction is all that is needed, for others that have had an audit carried out they may just need keeping on-track. Dependant on your requirements this can range from analysis of your site and advice given over the telephone to a visit to your premises and coaching given directly to your in-house team. Even just a few changes will have a significant impact on your website’s ranking. Don’t forget – it will still take time to see your hard work come to fruition!
Never back down from a challenge
The search engines analyze the reading level of the web page. One popular formula for doing this is the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level Readability Formula, which considers things like the average word length and the number of words in a sentence to determine the level of education needed to be able to understand the sentence. The key to quality SEO is all about research research research. Search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo use complex, evolving algorithms to call forth relevant results for search queries. And with trillions of web pages online, there’s a lot of competition. That said, there are a number of fundamental things you can do to make each page of your website more appealing to search engines. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Competing business demands force marketers to rely on hard attribution data to develop and support their cross-channel investment strategies."
Sprinkle LSI keywords liberally
Both Google and Bing take page-loading speed into account in their website ranking algorithm. Change is the only
constant you can count on in search engine optimization. Although we often say that the fundamental principles of search engine optimization don’t change, pretty much everything else does. If you want to be really, really good at this, you cannot be inflexible. You cannot afford the luxury of becoming emotionally bonded to any particular idea. Excessive link exchange ("Link to me and I'll link to you") or partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking will negatively impact a website’s ranking in search results. When it comes to long-term SEO strategies, there are so many tactics to consider.
